May 2024 We Care Wednesday

The National Network of Abortion Funds builds power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice. In 2016 we were told that it didn't matter who was elected, Roe v Wade was "settled" and "the law of the land". Well, it's 2024 and one state after another has found a way to make abortion inaccessible. We encourage you to get involved wherever you are located. Invest in some Abortion Fund goods and show your support. Donate directly! And why not...

Meet Shing - Craft Associate

In 2023 a customer came in and asked if they could drop off an application. They were looking for a part-time job in an independently owned small business. It's not every day that someone spells out their desire not support locally owned small businesses by working at one. Show support for the small businesses that not only supply yarn and tools for our fiber obsessions but also provide us with inspiration, support (educational and emotional), and community. Reasons we think you should head to your local yarn store! 🧶 Your LYS believes in what they sell, and that what they sell matters! Seriously, we business owners have a budget and have to decide what we want to stock in our shops. Even if we LOVE everything...

March 2024 We Care Wednesday

When we first opened gather here back in 2011 we were located just two blocks away from On The Rise on Broadway. We've been fortunate to be able to be one of the sponsors of their annual event: Empty Bowls Project over the past few years and to coincide with this annual event we decided to raise funds for their organization this month as well. On The Rise was founded in 1995 on the idea that dependable relationships catalyze healing and transformation. They commit to relationships with chronically homeless women and transgender/non-binary people that are long-term and relevant to their...
